M.S. in Forensic Psychology (Online)
Our MS in Forensic Psychology masters program is designed to give our students a strong foundation in forensic assessment, legal decision making, criminological theory, psychological research, and criminal law. Our program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach involving both psychology and criminology courses allowing students to understand the field from multiple perspectives.
Our program is geared toward working professionals. The degree also serves to provide a foundation for students pursuing doctoral programs, which are required to become a forensic psychologist, and continuing education programs in psychology, criminology, and related fields. Some doctoral programs may require you to have an advanced research background to earn a doctorate. If you want to pursue a doctoral degree, make sure this program is a good fit for future academic programs you’re considering. As the professional practice of forensic psychology requires a post-doctoral specialization, graduates of the program are not license-eligible for clinical practice.
This fully-online program requires 33 credit hours of coursework including a 3-credit hour capstone course. The program can be completed in as little as 12 months of full-time study or at your own pace within six consecutive years. Applications are accepted for January, March, May, August, and October start dates.
